Hi, I’m Marielle.

Thinking back to my mom teaching me to knit when I was ten, or to the hours I spent drawing in the margins of neglected math homework, it’s clear I have always been an artist and a maker at heart.

My background is in journalism and communications, but it takes a steady diet of art and creativity to nourish my soul. That’s why I launched my business. Perched in the Gatineau hills, my home studio is located on the unceded territory of the Anishinabe Algonquin people.

StellaMode brings together my great loves:

art, Design, craftsmanship and nature

Each piece I make has a story to tell. It may be based on the materials (often upcycled, often local, and often sourced from small, indigenous-owned businesses). It also emerges from the design, which is often inspired by the natural beauty right outside my window, or my own memories and experiences.

The story doesn’t end, though, when the last bead is woven.

The next chapter is always YOU. As I work on a piece, I wonder about who will wear it. What are they like? What conversations their jewelry might start? What quiet but meaningful moments will their jewelry witness?

The larger pieces I make can take 6 to 12 hours to complete. With that kind of time, you can be sure I’ve pondered a world of possibilities and woven them all into the work.

  • I currently ship across Canada and the US. If you are purchasing outside of these areas please contact me.

  • Shipping cost will automatically be added at checkout.

  • If you would like to schedule a time to pick up your purchase, that can be arranged. The shipping charge will be reimbursed to you after your purchase.

  • Please submit your custom order on this page.

    I will ask you indicate:

    • Jewelry type (earrings, necklace, ring, bracelet, etc)

    • Preferences in terms of pattern, motif, colour scheme, etc.

    • Specifics in terms of the sizing

    • Allergies to any types of metal

    Please feel free to email stellamodejewelry@gmail.com with a sketch, image, or any relevant reference material that would assist the design process. I will do my best to get back to you within 48 hours so we can begin creating your custom piece.

  • Each project is priced individually based on the cost of materials, design complexity and working time. I will provide a quote for you to approve, along with a design mock-up.

    Payment of 50% is required to begin work. The remaining 50% is to be paid upon completion.

FAQs

  • Please allow up to three weeks after you’ve submitted your request to receive a mockup and quote for your review. Production will begin once these are approved. Production times vary, depending on the size and complexity of the project.

  • All custom commissions and ready-to-wear pieces are final sale. If a piece arrives with damage from being shipped, a replacement will be provided free of charge.

  • I retain all rights and ownership to the designs I create. Including all original or custom works. Designs cannot be replicated or resold without written permission.

    I am more than happy for people to share my art on social media, however I do ask that I am credited for my art.

  • To keep the beadwork in the best possible condition:

    • Remove the jewelry before swimming or bathing.

    • Avoid pulling on the beads. The thread is very strong, but it will stretch with too much pressure.

    • The beads are made of glass. To avoid breaking, store the jewelry in a hard case, especially for travel.

    • Certain chemicals may discolour the beads. It’s best not to allow the beads to come in direct contact with perfume, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, etc. Ensure any creams or scent have fully absorbed into the skin before handling or putting on your jewelry.

    • To clean the beadwork, use a soft, damp cloth.

CUSTOM PRODUCTION TIME:

Please allow up to 3 weeks after you’ve placed your order to go from concept to receiving a mockup via email for your approval. Once approved, see below for approximate shipping times.

Currently shipping to Canada and the USA.

SHIPPING TIME:

If you are located within Ontario or Quebec, please allow one week for shipping. If you are located in another province or in the USA, please allow two weeks for shipping. You will be provided with a confirmation email and tracking number when your order has been shipped.

RETURNS:

All purchases are final sale. If a piece arrives with damage from being shipped, a replacement will be provided free of charge.
